Other church activities
On the 2nd Sunday of the month we join with the local Churches at the Cotswold Community Centre at 4.45pm to hold SONGS OF PRAISE CAFE. In a very relaxed atmosphere we enjoy cakes and tea/coffee whilelistening to favourite hymns.
For a number of years, a small group has met to pray for the community on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Two or three people offer prayer to passers-by on the road and a small group inside the church pray over the prayer requests brought in. It is confidential. Over the years, more than a thousand people have had prayer and we feel we have made many contacts in the community. Sometimes the prayers are just a blessing, often prayer for family members but also for personal needs. It is very low key and some folk don’t want to stop but there is no pressure.
THE LIFE CAFE will be held on the last Thursday of every month from 10.30am-11.30am. There are no set prices but donations are welcome. We will be serving tea, coffee, Kurdish tea, cakes and pastries. Everything is home-cooked by one of our members: Zhiyan.
At the end of every term we hold the ROCK STEADY OPEN EVENING where there will be drama, a puppet show (sometimes) and music all by thechildren (see What’s On page).
