Why is Jesus unique?
What makes Christ different to the founders of other religions?
In a world which says that all religions lead to God, how would we respond to someone who asked why we considered Jesus to be different? 2 Timothy 4:2 tells us to be ready at all times - in season and out of season.
The best place to begin is by recognizing the need: to be able to relate to God. Anyone can pray at a distance but not everyone can come to the throne of God - because of sin. Sin forms a barrier between God and humanity. It was represented in the Jerusalem temple by a huge veil. When Jesus died this veil was torn in two. (Matthew 27:51). So what had He done, that no one else had done, that made it possible for us to come to God?
He had taken our sin upon Himself along with its punishment. As a result we can receive His forgiveness through faith. (Romans 3:22). Now that we are forgiven, we can come boldly to God for he has made us His children.
